FAITH FORMATION COACHING
  • All of our coaches at SJV are volunteers and give a tremendous amount of time and energy to our kids.  If you are interested in coaching please let us know – sjvhoops1@gmail.com 
  • You will receive a $100 off your child's registration if you are the head coach as a small token of appreciation.
TEAM FORMATIONS / EVALUATIONS
At grade levels where we have enough kids for 2 or more teams – coaches will finalize teams based on skill level.   To be fair to all, we do not take any team / player requests.  If your child is selected to be on the American team (top team), your child will not have the option of playing down on the National team.  Coaches do their very best to assign teams based on ability / skill level.
  • Evaluations / Team Formation - These workouts will be run by the grade level coaches and provide the coaches an opportunity to get to know all of the kids in that grade level. They will use this to begin to assess the players for final team formation.

  • Grade Level Coaches will work together to finalize teams:
    • Next tier of players will be placed on National Level team(s)
    • The top players will be placed on the American Level team.

​TEAM PRACTICES 
  • Teams will practice 2x a week starting in October.  You will be notified of your team placement after player evaluations / team formations are complete.
    • Each team will have 1 practice per week where they have a full court and 1 practice where they share the gym with another team (same grade or 1 grade level above or below).  This will allow for weekly built in scrimmages.
    • Practice times will be shared with you once your son or daughter has been placed on their team.
      • Practice slots are based on court availability and coaches’ schedules so we are unable to accommodate individual player needs.

GAMES
  • West Diablo CYO will be setting up a Team Snap account that will be shared with families that will include your game schedule
    • Games are played at various locations throughout the local area.
